More than a century ago, even before the Wright Brothers made their first flight, tens of other engineers tried to make a powered and controlled airplane. Also, with the coming of jet flight came the development of the G-suit , a special kind of flight suit (worn alone or in combination with a traditional flight suit) that protected the wearer from the physical stress of acceleration by compressing the body to keep blood from pooling in the legs.
My main beef against non-aircrew types wearing flight suits, especially on a tanker is that in my pax briefing I tell pepole to listen to one of us in the green bag if something goes wrong, and I don't need some bonehead from intel, ATC, personell, etc.

Which is why wearing worn out, see through Nomex isn't a great idea. Over this time I have found not only do you have the best selection, but all your quality items are well priced. It's worthy of note that the USFS and many other state and government agencies mandate their crews wear full fire retardant uniforms and helmets while flying agency aircraft. But they look cute.:lol: :lol: If you are ever unfortunate enough to crash and burn and survive because you were wearing a flight suit.
Gentex helmets are used by the entire U.S. Armed forces, by over 50 countries, and by countless Air Medical, Law Enforcement, and commercial NOMEX Flight Suits For Sale helicopter crews. Thing is, getting an ex-SAAF flight-suit is an expensive option (when purchased from the Military Surplus Store in PTA).

Flak jackets were also developed to give bomber crews some protection from flying shrapnel, though these increased the overall weight of the airplane and reduced the effective bombload that could be carried. Nomex flight gear is a military standard world-wide for good reason.
